With 12 sessions lined up specifically covering Windows Phone developement and free tools provided for said development the event looks to be a hot one.  Keynotes announced will be delivered by the likes of:

  • Bill Buxton - a relentless advocate for innovation, design, and – especially – the appropriate consideration of human values, capacity, and culture in the conception, implementation, and use of new products and technologies
  • Scott Guthrie – corporate vice president of Microsoft’s .NET Developer Platform, where he runs the development teams responsible for delivering Microsoft Visual Studio developer tools and Microsoft .NET Framework technologies for building client and Web applications.
  • Joe Belfiore – corporate vice president and director of Windows Phone Program Management, responsible for the design and software product definition of Windows phones.
  • Dean Hachamovitch, GM of Internet Explorer, will also be on hand to talk about the future of web design and user experience.

Windows Phone 7 Series Announcement Inspires Fan to Create Commercial

On the heels of what is arguably one of the most memorable announcements at Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Megan Wyler (noted fan of all things Microsoft) has created an innovative commercial showcasing the highlights of Windows Phone 7 Series.  While cues from other “fruity” device commercials are present, the commercial is a great contrast as to how Windows 7 Series will shake up the mobile industry.

WinMoDevCamp.org Finally Coming To Canada Eh!

After months of planning, I am elated to announce WinMoDevCamp will be coming to Toronto on November 11th 2009.  WinMoDevCamp is a series of not-for-profit gatherings to develop applications for the newly released Microsoft Windows Phone 6.5 O/S.  This “Camp” has been held in other predominant cities such as Seattle and San Francisco, and will also be taking place in New York, London, Tokyo and many other cities around the world.  Register Here.
Presenting @ WinMoDevCamp Attendees will include mobile developers, web developers, .Net Developers, UI designers, testers, device manufactures and Canadian Carriers, all working together. Development projects will include both solo and team efforts. While some attendees will wish to work solo during the event, we encourage attendees to team up, based on expertise, to work in ad-hoc project development teams. All attendees should be prepared to work on a development project during the event.
Attendees will be able to:
  • Create new applications for the Windows Mobile Platform.
  • Meet and work side-by-side with team members from the
  • Microsoft Mobile Developer Experience team.
  • Gain assistance in migrating existing mobile applications from the iPhone, Blackberry and Palm Pre to the Windows Mobile Platform.
  • Create applications to support Windows Enterprise Applications.
  • Interact with Canadian Wireless Carrier representatives
    (Bell, Telus, Rogers & WIND)
