AdDuplex, one of the largest cross-promotion networks for Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps, empowers developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each other. Each month AdDuplex also reports on which Windows Phone devices people are using. May’s reigning Windows Phone device is the Nokia Lumia 920 remaining unchanged from last month. Bigger news amidst the report though is the arrival of the budget Lumia 520 jumping into 8th place in its first month on the chart.
Additional trends reported this month:
Top 6 Windows Phones are all made by Nokia – Lumia 920 (13.1 percent), Lumia 710 (12.1 percent), Lumia 800 (11.2 percent), Lumia 610 (8.4 percent), Lumia 620 (8.1 percent) and Lumia 820 (7.3 percent)
Budget phones presence grows. Nokia’s budget phones surge as the Lumia 620 jumped from 7 percent of usage last month to 8.1 percent and the new Lumia 520 entered the charts in 8th place with 4.4 percent of the usage as previously mentioned
Hints of ecosystem growth. AdDuplex reports evidence of Windows Phone ecosystem growth. AdDuplex notes that “The average numbers of unique users in Windows Phone apps participating in the AdDuplex cross-promotion network has grown about three times over the 2012 average.”
Reports provided by AdDuplex are promising. Windows Phone and Nokia continue to further drive market share and with more devices on the horizon this summer from Nokia and other OEMs, 2013 is shaping up to be a great year for Windows Phone.
