Nokia Lumia 928 Compared Against iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III in Low-Light Challange

Nokia 928 Challenge

With the Nokia Lumia 928 now being official, its only fitting that Nokia would begin to showcase the Lumia’s splendid camera capability.  To do this Nokia created a video pitting its video recording capabilities, in low light conditions, against the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S III. Now what’s known about the Lumia 928 thus far is that it comes with an 8.7-megapixel camera, same as what is found on the Lumia 920. The video provided showcases the superiority of PureView paired with a Carl Zeiss lens and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS can offer. Nokia also provides side-by-side comparison shots at the 50 second mark emphasizing sharper images, better color saturation, and less noise. Full video can be watched in its entirety below.

  1. With Windows Phone 8, Microsoft incorporates camera-specific apps as “lenses” (read: extras) within the camera app itself. Nokia has a few of those available, the most interesting of which is probably “Smart Shoot,” a feature that has you take 5 different versions of a group shot and then select the “best faces” from each to create the perfect picture. Panorama and Cinemagraph lenses are also available.
