Windows Phone market share has surpassed BlackBerry according to Market research firm, IDC, via it’s quarterly smartphone market report. It was reported that during Q1 2013, 3.2 percent of all smartphones shipped were Windows Phone devices, surpassing BlackBerry devices which held 2.9 percent market share. That is an increase from last quarter, when BlackBerry held 3.2 percent and Windows Phone made up 2.6 percent of all shipments. This is good news for Windows Phone as it has slowly continued to gain market share from its competitors. While Microsoft is still a distance third place behind first and second, the continued growth is promising.
