Tami Weller, Windows marketing head, stated today at the Microsoft Worldwide Partners Conference that Windows Phone sales are growing six times faster than the overall smartphone market and went on to mention that, in Microsoft’s eyes, Windows Phone is firmly set as the third smartphone ecosystem. Nokia’s Lumia 928 and 925 smartphones were promoted during Tami’s keynote speech and recommendations were made to partners attending WPC 2013 to strongly consider making Windows Phone apps.
The Windows Phone push continues this summer as later this week, Nokia is expected to reveal its new 41 megapixel smartphone. To add, Sprint, the US’s third biggest wireless carrier, will finally offer Windows Phone 8 phones. Both the HTC 8XT and the Samsung and the Samsung S Neo will be available on Sprint later this summer.
